XavierFest is an annual music festival hosted by Xavier University as a celebration for the end of the academic year. Recently, it has grown to become the single-most attended event by Xavier students each year, surpassing even the Cincinnati Crosstown Classic (an annual event for Xavier’s D1 Basketball team).
The previous branding for XavierFest was incredibly insufficient; it lacked the personality and assets required of an event this size. My new design focused on a few key elements to ensure this was no longer the case:
Unfortunately, as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak at the end of this school year, XavierFest 2020 was canceled. Even though I was no longer working for Student Activities Council (SAC) by this time, they had signed me on for a third year, specifically to continue to work with the XavierFest brand. I had big plans this year to brighten up the edgy aesthetic into something more beachy and vibrant in line with this year’s new colors. While this was unable to happen in the end, the school has asked that I pass on the assets to next year’s designer as they loved my work so much, they want to continue the brand moving forward.
